One of Scotland's largest commercial and residential development sites, located in the heart of Glasgow on the waterfront of the river Clyde.

Barclays Glasgow Campus valued at over £95 million, is an ambitious riverside development in the heart of Glasgow. It will blend modern residential facilities with dynamic workplaces including the new flagship headquarters of Barclays. Consisting of 324 apartments within two 18 story towers including dining and gym facilities, a residents lounge, games room and 4,250 sq ft roof terrace.

Daikin Applied UK were contracted to supply 6 of the EWAT-B Chiller with full free cooling and hydro kit. The EWAT-B was chosen primarily for its cost saving at low ambient temperatures using free cooling whilst still achieving the outlined efficiency targets. The low GWP refrigerant and small footprint of this system were additional factors considered, for longevity and space saving benefits.

“Barclays have high expectations when it comes to indoor air quality, and they have very high expectations of controls. The integration with the building management system is very important. They expect to be able to see and monitor a lot of information to ensure the well-being of their workers...The energy model is based on achieving an EPC of A. Free cooling technology has helped in achieving this goal”.
