Following severe storm damage to the air handling units (AHUs) at a major university’s Learning & Teaching Hub, an urgent temporary solution was required to maintain the heating and fresh air supply. Daikin Rental Solutions provided a rapid-response AHU hire service, ensuring minimal disruption to building operations.
The client required two temporary 150kW AHUs to restore the building's heating and fresh air circulation. A fast response was essential to maintain a comfortable indoor environment for students and staff.
To meet this urgent requirement, Daikin Rental Solutions supplied two 150kW AHUs crane-lifted onto the building’s rooftop. The temporary units were integrated into the existing hot water system, and bespoke ducting was fabricated to ensure seamless operation. This approach provided a quick and effective solution with minimal disruption.
The 150kW temporary AHU is designed to provide reliable and efficient climate control in emergency situations.
The temporary AHUs successfully restored heating and fresh air to the Learning & Teaching Hub, ensuring the building remained operational despite storm damage. Due to the success of the project, Daikin Applied (UK) is now supplying new permanent AHUs as part of the long-term solution.
Additionally, Daikin Applied Service offers planned maintenance contracts to help prevent future HVAC failures, ensuring long-term reliability.
